Minneapolis SWAT nearly kills family, win award

Police in Minneapolis almost kill an entire (innocent) family and get fabulous medals and commendations.
The Minneapolis SWAT team was entirely at fault for putting the family in harm’s way to begin with for not taking the time, or having the professionalism, to verify what some snitch told them.
“The officers put themselves in harm’s way. They were shot at and shot and deserved to be recognized,” said Dolan in a statement defending the awards to the SWAT team.
Uh, yeah. They were shot at by a citizen protecting his home and his family from an armed band of thugs. I can accurately use the term “thugs” after the fact, since if they had any honor among them they would have refused the awards.
According to the news report, the investigation into the SWAT FUBAR is still ongoing (after 7 months). In other words, they will stretch this out until the media is no longer interested.
If you give someone an award and tell them they are God’s gift to “law enforcement,” are they really screw-ups?
